First, I would like to offer my most sincere apology for neglecting my blog for so long. I kind of disappeard off the map for a while. On May 3rd, I shut my hand in my truck door and broke it bad. Had to have surgery, and couldn't play guitar for a while. Had to cancel a bunch of shows while I healed. The bad news is that my new (newer) truck got repossessed in the process because I couldn't work and make the payments. Just as well anyway, I didn't need that much money going out every month. The good news is that the doctor didn't expect me to be back playing guitar until late July or early August. I played my first gig since May on July 9th. I'll admit that my hand was stiffening up a bit near the end of the gig but I pulled it off without incident. Anyway, I got my older truck (1994 Ford Ranger) running (got the clutch changed) so I'm back to playing live.
I'll do my best to check in here more often and update you all. Next gig is Friday, July 16th from 6pm to 9pm non stop at Sulli's Steakhouse at 301 South Main Street in Cedar City Utah. I peform there every Friday. Same time. If you're local, come on out some Friday night. I'd love to see you. They have great food and excellent service and you won't go broke. Take care folks. I'll be back.

I hate it when I have time on my hands. It bores me so the busier I am, the better. I have a regular gig in Cedar City every week now and I'm so thankful for that. I play at 301 South Main Street in Cedar City, Utah every Friday evening from 6pm to 9pm non stop. It's at Sulli's Steakhouse. I stand there and smell the steaks and ribs and such and play the best in Folk, Americana, Country, Acoustic Rock, and Oldies. I do some new stuff too. Whatever your musical taist, I'm sure to play some tunes that you enjoy. I have a gig coming up in April at Xetava Gardens too on Saturday the 17th from 6pm to 8:30pm non stop. I love playing and performing. I'm blessed with this gift and I never forget that. Anyway, just checking in with ya'll. Be sure to check out my "Show Schedule" for some shows in your area. I'd love to see you at some of those shows. Bye for now.

Last night, I played in Cedar City, Utah for the first time. Acutally, last nigh was the first time I EVER set foot in Cedar City, Utah. No excuse really. I mean, I only live about a 45 min drive north from Cedar City, it's an easy town to get around in, the people (from what I've seen so far) are great and there's quite a music scene in Cedar City.
Well last night, I played at Sulli's Steakhouse right on 301 South Main Street in Cedar City. A very nice place indeed. It wasn't very busy but with that in considderation, I did quite well in tips. The dinner guests were very pleased with my performance. I did songs from the 1940s to present. Most were slower tempo songs. I'm not sure my version of Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath" would have been appropriate. lol. The gig went off without incident. Allthough I did a learn a valuable lesson last night. Never eat a foot long Meatball Marinara Sub from Subway just before a gig. I had to do a bit of struggling with my voice throughout the gig. All a vocalist needs is a night of gas bubbles in their stomach to make hitting certian notes a real task. I pulled it off but just barely. Anyway, I just shot the owner an email. I hoping they they'll have me back. Check them out at www.sullivanscafe.com. They have a cafe on the right side and a steakhouse for dinners on the left. It's DEFINATLY worth checking out. Anyway, have a great week everyone. See you soon.

Today started out looking pretty boring. I emailed Greg at Xetava Gardens Cafe in Ivins to see if he was booking his entertainment for March yet. He called me within mintues, booked me for April 10th from 6 to 8:30pm and told me that he had a friend who was in need of some entertainment for today. He gave me his phone number. I called, introduced myself, offered my services, he hired me. The gig went off nice and smooth and they loved my sound and the stuff I did. They asked me back tomorrow. They paid me more money than what I charged and i did great on tips too. I love it when I get NICE suprises. Still trying to get some local gigs for March. I'll update you all as soon as I get some more local stuff.
Just wanted to check in quick. I'll be in touch. Check back soon. Bye for now.

This past Saturday evening, I played a new place. (new for me that is) I played at Wildcat Willies Ranch and Salloon in Springdale, Utah. I had a great time. The crowd was very appreciative. They even through a few off the wall request my way that I was able to pull off. I love it when I have a night like that. And the food! Oh man, you gotta check this place out for dinner. They're steaks can't be beat. Anyway, gonna try to get a few more local gigs and I'll be sure to let you all know when they're booked. The weather is getting warmer so I'm hopeing for a busy season. Bye everybody for now.

Sometimes things happen. That's life. But at least I've managed to get it all under control this time. The date that I had on Saturday Febuary 20th from 7 to 10pm at Wildcat Willies in Springdale, UT has been changed to one week earlier. Coming up this coming weekend, on Saturday, February 13th I'll be playing at Wildcat Willies in Springdale, UT. Same time.
Now on to other business. My recent purchases of some additional equipment have opened up my set list a great deal. I'm like a kid with new toys. I'm doing songs that I never did before. With my looper, i can do guitar solos with the looped rythm part playing behind the solo. With my vocal harmonizer, i can make it sound like 2 people are singing harmony with me. I'm having a blast!
Anyway, if you're local to Southern Utah, this Saturday on February 13th, take a drive down Route 9 to 897 Zion Park Blvd. in Springdale, Utah to Wildcat Willies for dinner. I'll be playing there from 7pm to 10pm non stop as always. I'd love to see you there. Seriously though folks. Check out their menu. Just click here and then click on "menu"

Hi Folks,
Gearing up for a gig at the Red Coyote Cafe this Sunday, January 31st from 1pm to 4pm NON STOP. I love that place. The crowd is always great, the food, the staff and the owners are the best. You GOT to come on up if you're able. It's not hard to find. It's right on Route 9 in Virgin, Utah. Well worth the drive. They have some decent entertainment at the Red Coyote Cafe every Sunday. Be sure to Click Here and check them out on a regular basis to see who will be appearing. Between the food and the entertainment, it's always worth the drive. You won't be disapointed that's for sure. I hope to see a few of you (or preferably a LOT of you) there this Sunday.
That's all for now. I'll be checking in again next week. Stay healthy and warm all.

You know, even after all these years, I still get a bit of stage fright. Last night, I played at Xtetava Gardens in Ivins, Utah. I had never played there before. I'm always a bit nervous when I play a new place. Will they like me? Will I have a decent crowd? Will they hire me again? Well the night went off without a hitch. I had a respectable crowd, the staff and the owner loved my show, the crowd responded well with lots of adoration and tips, and the owner told me that they'd "be seeing me again". Life is good and keeps getting better in my case. I thank God for blessing me with the gift of music.

Hey All,
This month is turning out to be a busy month as far as local gigs go. This coming Saturday, I'm playing at Xetava Gardens at 815 Coyote Gulch Court right in Ivins, Utah from 6pm to 8:30pm non stop. This is the first time I'm performing at Xetava Gardens. I'm a bit nervous an excited at the same time. First impressions and all. On January 31st, I'm playing at the Red Coyote Cafe on Route 9 in Virgin, Utah from 1pm to 4pm non stop. i love that place. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but for Southern Utah, it is. I still keep busy doing house parties and my regular gig at the Golf Resort in Henderson, Nevada but it's still nice playing to the home crowd.
Now on my home page (titled, "you wanna wanna?") you see a little sitemeter logo. That's a tracker of sorts. It allows me to know just where all my visitors are coming from, how long, they've stayed on the site and what pages they accessed. In the past week or so, I've gotten four hits form Seymour Conneticut, USA. If this is you and you happen to be reading this, say hello in the comments or shoot me an email and say hello. I'd love to get to know some of the people who stop by here from time to time. I encourage you to leave comments in my guesbook and/or here in my blog.
Anyway, just checking in with ya'll. Hope the new year is treating you good. Bye for now.

Well it's December 31st, 2009. Today we say goodbye to 2009 and usher in 2010. We recall the challenges, acomplishments and even the failures we've had this past year and look forward to 2010 with wild anticpation of what the year will bring. That's how I do it anyway. I've had a lot of growth as an artist over the year. I've reached a lot of goals and have fell short on a few of them as well. But that's how life is so I don't get down about it. In 2010, I plan to be busier with performing and recording. We'll see what 2010 brings us. Happy New Year everyone. May the coming year bring you all the happiness and prosperity that you long for. God bless.

I know what you're thinking. Get yer head out of the gutter, I'm not excited in THAT way.
Anyway, I performed at two separate house parties recently and made some better than average money. That enabled me to get some new equipment gadgets and do a bit of upgrading. (Ebay rocks!) I've been spending the last week adjusting, getting the hang of the new stuff, and implementing this new gear into my sets. The results have not been anything less than amazing! I'm excited to share them with you all. I plan to debut my new sound on Sunday, Janurary 24thth at the Red Coyote Cafe on Route 9 in Virgin, Utah. I'll be playing from 1pm to 4pm NON STOP. No cover charge either. Just great eats at reasonable prices and some free music by yours truely to listen to.
Come on out. I would love to see y'all. The Red Coyote Cafe features some of the best musical talen that Southern Utah has to offer every Sunday, year around from 1pm to 4pm. Check them out.
This week's reccomended acoustic artist is Kim Richey. Kim has had some big hits in the country music genre. She's a top notch writer and a decent singer. Check out Kim Richey.

My apologies for being away so long. The last few weeks have been quite eventful. My guitar and equipment bag were stolen on November 11th. I did an insurance claim and they did an investigation and treated me like a criminal. The end result, i was compensated in the amount of $1200. That didn't cover all of the loss but enough to get me back on my feet for now. Ebay saved me a lot of money when I replaced the stuff. I'm addicted to ebay. lol. This time, around, I've saved all receipts and I plan to take photos of each item in my hands, and write down serial numbers in case this ever happens again. What a pain in the tail. Anyway, the next gig local to southern Utah will be Janurary 10th, 2010 on a Sunday from 1pm to 4pm NON STOP at the Red Coyote Cafe in Virgin, UT. It's right on Rt 9 on the right hand side. It's gonna be a hoot! Come on out. Hope to see some of y'all there.
This week's reccomended artist is Neko Case. Check her out at www.nekocase.com. The's a cute firey redhead with a great voice and great style. Peace all. I'll do an update next week.

Well another week has gone by. Life's been busy. Played a house party in Vegas Wed evening, leaving shortly for another gig in Henderson, and have two gigs tomorrow. I feel like a rock star on tour. lol. No local gigs comeing up that I have booked but I'm working on it so stay tuned.
This week's recommended artist is Fred Gillen Jr. He's worth a listen. He's got a great acousitic style. Search him out on youtube too and you'll find video performances of Fred. Check him out at his website. So long for now and thanks for stopping by.

Things are going good. Had a nice show at Ancestor Square here in Saint George yesterday morning. Met some great people too. No local shows on the calender at the moment. Still doing the golf resort shows regulary in Vegas (sorry, not open to the public. Only members), and I have a few house parties scheduled in the area as well. House parties are great. Once you play one, (if you're good), you'll likely get more. At these house parties, your audence are all potential clients. Make sure you have plenty of business cards to give out and if you're selling a CD, you'll likely do even better. Anyway, even though there's nothing on the schedule righ now, check back often in the "shows" section. Whenever I get a new gig, I'm quick to post the details.
I'm going to start a reccomondation section of the website or maybe here in the blog. The blog sounds like a better idea. Ok, here's how I'm gonna do it. Starting now, every week, in blog entry, I'll post a link to a Folk and Americana Artist that you'll likely dig. Throw me a comment if you have a reccomondation as well. Anyway, this week's suggestion is Tracy Grammer. Just click here to view her site and take a listen on her My Space page. Read her story. It's very interesting. In fact, I'm listening to her song Lauglin Boy on her myspace page right now. She's great! Have a great week folks.

Well with the launchof my website, I've also decided to launch a blog. I'm kind of a motor mouth in person so I think this blogging thing will work out just fine. I'm adding stuff to my website constantly it seems but that's ok. It keeps me busy. Check back often as I'll have plenty to say.
